The other day I was laying in bed listening to the country channel and this song came on. As I listened to it my heart and mind knew that this was my song. My mind began to race as I listened to the words. This is how I feel about my husband. How did they know to write these words down?
Everyone that sees my husband always wants to know him and they always have a smile after talking to him. Every word in this song is right on.
I do pinch myself! He makes me feel like home anywhere we are. Winter does turn into spring. He always fixes anything that wrong. He is more than I deserve.

February 23 is a wonderful day for our family to remember. It's the day that our Mikey was born. It was a scary delivery. Mike has worked for a lot of bad people over the years, I really don't know why. Maybe because he is so trusting and kind to others. During this pregnancy he was working for a not so nice man. I was very big and pregnant close to delivery when this man called and told me that the home that Mike had been building in Kernville for an investment ( to by our own home ) had burned down to the ground. I was alone with our three little children Mauri 6, Jaime 4, & Spencer 2. I became very sick, my head hurt and I couldn't see. Just then my mother who lived up north decided to come early to help me with the kids. She walked in and found me this way. She found Mike and they took me to the hospital. I had toxemia and so they checked me into the hospital and put me in a dark room with a nurse sitting by my side at all times. They thought I was going to have a Cesar. After two days I had a healthy beautiful boy.
Mikey has been the strong silent type from the start. His two sisters and brother did all the talking so he didn't have to. He didn't talk until he was almost three and then he began talking in full sentences. It was as if he wanted to make sure he did it just right before he began. He loved pretending wearing hats of all kinds, Fireman, race car driver,and cowboy. He was one that wasn't very patient, but has improved in that area over the years. Going on a mission and working for his dad has helped him very much.
He has given us all great joy in our family. His sisters, Brother and their spouses all adore him. This is his 30th birthday! We can't believe how fast time has gone by. How we love our Mikey: Everyone loves Mikey!

Skinny or Fat, Whats better?

I have beautiful children as you can see from the family picture from above, but my youngest daughter is very thin and gets so upset when people comment about how thin she is. We all tell her it's a compliment and that she is so lucky. If she doesn't eat all the time cookies, donuts, etc. she loses weight. For most people they fight all their lives to be thin or just average.
I remember being in the 7th grade being 5'6 and weighing 119 pounds thinking I was fat. I was bigger then most of the kids, taller and stockier. Sunni being the last born doesn't remember what her parents looked like in our youth. She remembers us in our 40's and both Mike and I had begun to gain weight. Sunni has always wondered "Who do I take after".
Well, I was going through pictures the other day and found this one! HA HA HA!
I think this will answer her question.

Grandma's week babysitting the Hawaii Orphins

This has been such a wonderful week for me. I have been able to watch Spencer and Shanti's two little girls while they spend some time in Hawaii. Let me just say there is a reason you have babies when you are young. Mike and I have been on our toes non-stop chasing these little girls around. It has been so fun hearing their little feet coming down the hall and the laughter when they play together.

The first few days I would be cleaning or getting ready for the day and see Sammi peeking out the door and then quickly shutting it when she saw me. At first I was afraid of what I would find when I entered the room.

What I find as I open the door! Take a close look at Sariah dress. She put it on all by herself.

I thought I would post a few things I knew you would miss. Sariahs little hand directing you where to go and what to give her.

Sammi has adopted the highchair as her new feeding place. It has been so nice because once she is in there she can't get out. She has to actually sit still and eat some food.

This was an afternnon with their cousins the Armijos at the park. It was a lovely day and they had so much fun being out of the house to run free. I love watching them run and play with eachother. Sammi leads the way and Sariah brings up the rear.

They sure miss their mommy and daddy and I know they will be so happy to have them home soon!

I am up at Sunni's visiting and while I was up here my niece Joellen had her wedding up in Pine Valley. My kids wanted to see all the pictures because they were sad they missed it, so I thought I would put some on my blog. Here are Joellen and Will right after they were married.

How excited we were to have Spencer be our first boy! We thought the whole time that he was going to be a she, but to our surprise she was a he. We were very excited. He has been such a joy and adventure all in one. He had a very creative mind and kept us on our toes. I remember one day I couldn't find him he was about 6 years old and I began to panic looking for him calling everyone that might know where he was when he walked through the front door with a hat on and his sisters pom pom sticking out the back of the hat. I asked him where he had been and he said DANCING! I sat what do you mean dancing? Him and his friend Jason were going door to door dancing for money. They came home with 7 dollars in change. We love you Spencer Happy birthday.

Spencer and Shanti have bought a new home in Las Vegas and have worked very hard to make it beautiful. Mike and Mikey worked on their kitchen cabinets and were able to install them a few weeks ago. It is amazing how a few new cabinets can make such a huge difference. It looks so beautiful in there and they are so pleased with how it all turned out. Mike and Mikey did and great job and everything just fit. All that is left now is the floor to be tiled!

Can you believe this is the same baby. Sariah was one month old in the first 2 pictures. She is 5 months old in the next picture. She is such a chunk and still is just drinking breast milk. You just want to kiss her all day long.

Spring Break went by very fast this year. The first part of the week I drove over to the coast with Jaime and her little family. We enjoyed sitting on the beautiful beach in the sun and watched the kids play. The weather was beautiful during the day and very cold at night but we still had a great time. Then I was able to drive up to Las Vegas for Easter weekend and spend time with Spencers family and Sunnis family. Mauris family stopped by on their way home from Utah so we got to see them for awhile. It was a wonderful trip and I was sad when it was time to go home. I look forward to the times we are all together.

Our youngest son turned 29 this past weekend! What a wonderful journey we have had with him.
Michael Lawrence Taylor II was born here in Bakersfield. It was a scary time because I developed toxemia so they put me in the hospital. Two days later Mikey was born. Everything went well and he was a healthy 8lbs 8 oz.
He has always been quiet from the beginning. After all he had two older sisters and one older brother to do all the talking.
Mikey ( as we have always called him) was a thumb sucker who folded his ears while he sucked. It was pretty cool to all the kids. He didn't speak until he was almost three but, when he did finally talk it was fast and in full sentences. If any of you know Mikey you know he talks fast, eats fast, and plays and works hard!
His dad thanks Heavenly father everynight for the blessing of being able to work with him everyday. They are the best of friends and show great love for one another.
He loves sports, fishing,hunting,scuba diving,eating and traveling. He is always going somewhere exciting and always learning something new.
Our whole family and extended family have loved and enjoyed Mikey for all 29 years. I think it would be almost impossible to find another brother, son,or friend more loving, thoughtful, or kind then he. I cannot believe that my Father in Heaven picked us for such a priceless gift of being his parents.

Today is my babies 25th birthday! What a blessing & joy she has been. After I had Mikey I had a miscarriage and thought I was done with having babies. I had two beautiful girls and two handsome boys. I thought that was enough but, to my suprise I got pregnant when Mikey was four years old. I was upset at first but then once the sickness went away I began to get excited. Oh what if it was going to be a little girl, how much fun would I have. In those days they didn't give you ultrasounds so I really didn't know what "she" was going to be. I decided it was going to be a little girl. If it came out a boy I would dress him as a girl anyways! HAHA( Just kidding). So I started sewing everything bright pink and sparkly with lace and ribbon. I had made 7 dresses that matched her brothers and sisters by the time she was born. You can only imagin my excitement when she came out a girl. I knew then she was to bless my life and our family through all our years. She became the focus of her two older sisters 10 and 8 and her brothers 6 and 4 how they loved her caring, spoiling, and protecting her. She grew up thinking she was on stage " the center of our focus " 24/7. I am sure at times she seemed alittle spoiled " which she was" but, she is truley special ask her husband and her two little boys. Everyone loves Sunni Jean the love machine. Happy birthday sweet girl. your dad and I love you!

For several years in the past, I would worry about my son. Especially around Christmas time when the family would all get together. We have been so blessed to have him and his wonderful little family with us again.
A year ago they were sealed in the Las Vegas Temple.

During this Hoilday time I do miss my parents who live so far away and my grandparents who are no longer with us.

I also miss my brothers and their families.

This Thanksgiving I had all my grandbabies together and so we took some pictures. As you can see it was a little crazy getting all of them to look right at the camera or to not cry but it was wonderful!
